    • 1 to 2 tablespoons pepperoncini brine
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional)

    Directions

    1. Place the beef chuck roast into the bottom of your slow cooker. Trim excess fat if desired, but leaving some fat helps create a richer and more flavorful roast.
    2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the ranch seasoning mix, au jus gravy mix, beef broth, and black pepper until combined.
    3. Scatter the pepperoncini peppers around the roast and pour in a splash of the pepperoncini brine for extra flavor.
    4. Cut the butter into chunks and place it on top of the roast.
    5. Pour the prepared seasoning mixture evenly over the beef, coating the roast well.
    6. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours or HIGH for 4 to 5 hours, until the beef becomes fork-tender and easy to shred.
    7. Shred the beef directly in the slow cooker using two forks, mixing it with the flavorful juices and peppers.
