    Creamy Tomato Basil Chicken Bake

    Ingredients (Serves 4)

    • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds)
    • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (divided)
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (divided)
    • 1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 2 teaspoons dried basil
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
    • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
    • Extra Parmesan & basil for garnish

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    2. Pat chicken dry and season with half the salt and pepper. Place in a glass casserole dish.
    3. In a bowl, mix crushed tomatoes, cream, Parmesan, basil, garlic, red pepper flakes, oil, remaining seasoning, and sugar.
    4. Pour the creamy tomato basil sauce evenly over the chicken.
    5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
    6. Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes, until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
    7. Let rest for 5–10 minutes, then serve warm with extra sauce on top.
