Quick and Easy Beef Stir-Fry Recipe

Ingredients:
For the beef:
500 g Flank steak or sirloin steak, trimmed and sliced into thin strips
2 tbsp Cornflour
2 tsp Chinese 5 spice
For the vegetables:
2 Green peppers, deseeded and sliced into thin strips
3 Spring onions, trimmed and sliced
2 tsp Red chilli, finely chopped (adjust for heat preference)
2 Cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
4 cm Fresh ginger, peeled and finely grated
For the sauce:
2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
3 tbsp Soy sauce (low sodium optional)
3 tbsp Sweet chilli sauce
3 tbsp Rice vinegar
4 tbsp Water
For the noodles:
150 g Dried egg noodles
To cook and garnish:
2 tbsp Sunflower oil (or any high-heat cooking oil)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Noodles and Beef
1. Cook egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. In a bowl, toss the steak strips with cornflour and Chinese 5 spice until evenly coated.
2. Prepare the Vegetables and Sauce
1. Slice green peppers, spring onions, and chilli. Crush garlic and grate ginger.
2. Mix all sauce ingredients (ketchup, soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce, rice vinegar, and water) in a small bowl.
3. Cook the Beef
1. Heat 1 tbsp of sunflower oil in a wok or large frying pan over high heat until very hot.
2. Add beef strips in batches to avoid overcrowding. Sear until crispy and browned. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
4. Stir-Fry the Veggies
1. Add remaining oil to the pan. Stir-fry peppers and chilli for 2 minutes.
2. Add garlic, ginger, and spring onions. Stir-fry for 1 more minute.
5. Combine Everything
1. Pour the sauce into the pan with the vegetables. Cook until thickened and glossy (about 1 minute).
2. Add cooked noodles and crispy beef strips. Toss until everything is coated in the sauce.
6. Serve and Garnish
Plate your stir-fry and garnish with extra spring onions and red chilli for added flavor and spice!
Tips for Perfect Crispy Beef
Use flank steak or sirloin steak for best results.
Make sure your pan is smoking hot to sear the beef properly.
