    Vanilla buttermilk pound cake

    Ingredients:

    °1 can Duncan Hines Golden Butter Cake Mix

    °1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened

    °1/2 cup water

    °4 large eggs

    °1/2 cup sugar

    °1/2 cup vegetable oil

    °2 tsp pure vanilla extract

    +To make a basic powdered sugar glaze (optional recipe), you will need:

    °2 cups powdered sugar

    °2 t margarine or butter

    °1 t vanilla

    °3-4 tablespoons milk or half-half

     

    Methods:

    Step 1: Prepare the pan and preheat the oven

    Spray the 10-inch loaf pan with cooking spray and sprinkle with flour. Preheat oven 350 degrees F.

    Step 2: Mixing all ingredients

    In a large bowl, combine the canned cake mixture, water, eggs, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract and vegetable oil. Using an electric mixer, beating ingredients at low speed for 1 mn. After a minute of mixing, scrape the sides of the bowl and beat for two minutes at medium speed.

    Step 3: Bake the cake

    Once the mixture is well mixed and smooth, pour it into your prepared cake pan. Baking for 35 to 40 mn . On a wire rack, let the cake cool completely.

    Step 4: Make the icing (optional)

    In  bowl, combined powder sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla & milk or half and half. Mixing all ingredients together with a whisk to well mixed.

    If desired, add more milk or half-half to thicken the consistency. Once the cake is completely cooled, sprinkle the top with icing
