    Slow Cooker Italian Sausage Pasta with Tomato Herb Sauce

     

    Slow Cooker Italian Sausage Pasta with Tomato Herb Sauce

    This hearty slow cooker Italian sausage pasta is the perfect comfort food rich, savory, and absolutely irresistible. It’s a set-it-and-forget-it weeknight favorite that fills your home with amazing aromas and satisfies every craving.

    Ingredients:

    1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)

    1 large onion, thinly sliced

    4 cloves garlic, minced

    1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)

    1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

    1 1/2 cups chicken broth

    1 tbsp tomato paste

    1 tsp dried basil

    1 tsp dried oregano

    1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

    Salt and black pepper to taste

    8 oz wide egg noodles (or your favorite pasta)

    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    Fresh basil for garnish

    Instructions:

    1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned, crumbling it as it cooks.

    2. Transfer sausage to a slow cooker. Add sliced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper.

    3. Pour in diced tomatoes (with juices), chicken broth, and tomato paste.

    4. Stir in dried basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

    5. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours, allowing the flavors to deepen.

    6. About 20–30 minutes before serving, cook egg noodles until al dente. Drain and stir them into the slow cooker.

    7. Taste and adjust seasoning. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.

    8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

    Variations & Tips:

    Lighten it up: Use turkey sausage or a plant-based alternative.

    Go vegetarian: Swap sausage for extra veggies like mushrooms and zucchini.

    Change the pasta: Try pappardelle, penne, or gluten-free noodles.

    Creamy twist: Add a splash of heavy cream for a luxurious texture.
