Ingredients:
1 kg Beef cubes (Use braising steak, chuck, skirt, leg, or flank also called Stewing Steak)
3 tbsp Plain flour (For coating the beef)
2 tbsp Sunflower oil (For browning the beef)
1 Onion (Finely chopped can use pre-chopped frozen)
3 Cloves Garlic (Minced or 15g frozen chopped garlic)
600 ml beef stock
3 Carrots (Peeled and chopped)
1/2 Swede (Rutabaga in the USA) (Peeled and chopped)
2 Beef stock cubes (No need to dissolve, just add directly)
3 tbsp Tomato purée (For a deep, rich flavor)
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (For a bold, umami kick)
Salt & Freshly ground black pepper (To taste)
Instructions:
Coat the beef in flour, ensuring it’s fully covered.
Heat oil in a pan (or a slow cooker with a stovetop-safe insert). Brown the beef in batches until golden brown.
Transfer beef to the slow cooker and add all remaining ingredients.
Cover and cook:
HIGH: 5-6 hours
LOW: 8-9 hours
(Cooking time may vary based on the size of your beef cubes and veggies, but don’t worry you can’t overcook this dish!)
