Looking for a bold and colorful party appetizer or an easy taco night twist? This Seven-Layer Taco Salad is a Mexican-style layered dip packed with flavor, texture, and irresistible ingredients like seasoned sour cream, creamy refried beans or ground beef, salsa, cheese, fresh veggies, and crunchy tortilla chips!

Perfect for potlucks, cookouts, game day spreads, or a family dinner idea this layered taco dip is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

    Ingredients for Seven-Layer Taco Salad:

1 can refried beans or cooked ground beef

    1 cup sour cream

    1 tsp ground cumin

    ½ tsp garlic powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 cup chunky salsa (your favorite variety!)

    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    1 cup shredded lettuce

    ½ cup diced tomatoes

    ½ cup sliced black olives

    ¼ cup chopped green onions

    Tortilla chips for scooping

    Instructions:

    1. Season the Sour Cream:
In a small bowl, mix sour cream with cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. This adds extra flavor and Mexican spice to your dip!

    2. Layer the Taco Salad:

Spread refried beans or cooked ground beef evenly in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Add the seasoned sour cream layer on top.

Spread salsa evenly over the sour cream.

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese across the salsa layer.

Add a layer of shredded lettuce for crunch.

Top with diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, and chopped green onions.

    3. Chill & Serve:
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve chilled with crispy tortilla chips or as a side dish for Mexican dinners!
