    Savory Chinese Stir-Fried Beef with Sweet Onions

    If you’re craving an authentic Chinese beef stir-fry recipe, this savory stir-fried beef with sweet onions is the perfect choice. Tender slices of beef sirloin are marinated and quickly stir-fried with caramelized onions, garlic, and ginger in a flavorful Asian-style sauce. It’s quick, delicious, and better than takeout!

     

    Ingredients:

    1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

    2 tbsp soy sauce

    1 tbsp oyster sauce

    1 tbsp hoisin sauce

    1 tbsp cornstarch

    1 tsp sesame oil

    2 tbsp vegetable oil

    2 medium yellow onions, sliced into wedges

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    1 tsp grated fresh ginger

    1/4 cup beef broth or water

    1/2 tsp sugar

     

    Instructions:

    1. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine beef slices with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Let marinate for 15–20 minutes.

    2. Stir-Fry the Onions: Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add onions and stir-fry until slightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.

    3. Cook the Beef: Add the remaining oil, then stir-fry the beef quickly until browned but tender.

    4. Add Aromatics: Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking just until fragrant.

    5. Combine & Sauce: Return onions to the pan, add beef broth and sugar, and toss everything together until coated in the savory sauce.

    6. Serve Hot: Enjoy your Chinese-style beef and onion stir-fry over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
