    Saltine Cracker Toffee

This Saltine Cracker Toffee, also known as chocolate crack toffee, is a quick and irresistible homemade dessert made with just a few pantry staples. Featuring a crispy saltine cracker base, rich butter caramel toffee, and a smooth layer of melted chocolate, this sweet and salty treat is perfect for holidays, parties, and last-minute desserts.

    Ingredients (Only 4 Ingredients)

    • 1 sleeve of saltine crackers (about 35–40 crackers)
    • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter
    • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar (light or dark)
    • 1 ½ cups (255 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

    Optional toppings:

    • Sea salt
    • Cinnamon
    • Chopped nuts (almonds, pecans, peanuts)

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and lightly grease it.
    2. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single tight layer.
    3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring constantly.
    4. Once boiling, cook for about 3 minutes until the mixture becomes thick, smooth, and caramel-like.
    5. Quickly pour the hot caramel over the crackers and spread evenly.
    6. Bake for 5–7 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
    7. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 2 minutes to melt.
    8. Spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.
    9. Allow to cool completely, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm.
    10. Break into pieces and enjoy!
