    Juicy Salisbury Steak Meatballs Recipe with Rich Onion Gravy

     

    These Salisbury Steak Meatballs are a hearty and flavorful twist on a classic comfort food. Juicy meatballs are seasoned to perfection and simmered in a rich, savory onion gravy. Perfect over creamy mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice, this dish is a family favorite. Quick to prepare, it’s ideal for busy weeknights or cozy weekend dinners. Elevate your meals with this satisfying and timeless recipe!

    Ingredients:

    For the Meatballs:

    2 pounds Ground Beef

    3/4 cup Seasoned Breadcrumbs

    1/4 cup Brown Mustard

    1/4 cup Ketchup

    1 teaspoon Powdered Beef Base or Crumbled Beef Bouillon Cubes

    1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

    1/2 teaspoon Salt

    1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

    1/4 cup (1/2 stick) Land O’ Lakes Salted Butter

    For the Gravy:

    1 large Onion, thinly sliced

    3 cups Beef Broth

    2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce

    2 tablespoons Cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons Water (for thickening)

    Salt and Pepper, to taste

    Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Meatballs

    1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, seasoned breadcrumbs, brown mustard, ketchup, powdered beef base, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until fully combined.

    2. Form into evenly sized meatballs (about 1.5 inches in diameter).

    2. Cook the Meatballs

    1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt the salted butter.

    2. Add meatballs in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned. Remove meatballs and set aside.

    3. Make the Gravy

    1. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté for 5–7 minutes until soft and caramelized.

    2. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up browned bits for extra flavor.

    3. Bring to a simmer and stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the gravy thickens.

    4. Combine Meatballs and Gravy

    1. Return meatballs to the skillet and coat them in the rich gravy.

    2. Simmer for 10–15 minutes to meld flavors and fully cook the meatballs.
