    Hot Apple Dumplings Recipe

    Hot Apple Dumplings Recipe

    Ingredients:
    – 2 Granny Smith apples
    – 1 cup water
    – 1 cup sugar, divided
    – 1 stick butter
    – 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
    – 8 canned biscuits (Pillsbury buttermilk recommended)
    – 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon

    Directions:
    Prep the Apples: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel, core, and slice each apple vertically into 8 slices. Submerge slices in cold water to prevent browning.
    Make the Syrup: In a saucepan, combine water, 3/4 cup sugar, butter, and vanilla. Heat until sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil.
    Wrap the Apples: Divide each biscuit into two layers. Wrap dough around each apple slice, overlapping at the bottom to seal. Arrange sealed side down in a 9×13 inch baking pan.
    Add the Syrup: Pour hot sugar mixture over apple slices.
    Add Cinnamon Sugar: Mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle over dumplings.
    Bake: Bake for 35 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
    Serve: Enjoy warm, topped with vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
