Ingredients:
– 1 lb penne pasta
– 1 lb shaved beef (ribeye or sirloin)
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 1 large onion, sliced
– 1 green bell pepper, sliced
– 8 oz sliced mushrooms
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tsp Italian seasoning
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 1/4 cup flour
– 2 cups beef broth
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– 8 oz provolone cheese, shredded
– 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
Instructions:
1. First, cook penne pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Then, sauté onions and bell peppers until softened, about 5 minutes. Next, add mushrooms and garlic, and cook until fragrant. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
3. After that, push the veggies to the side. Add shaved beef and cook until browned, breaking it up. Sprinkle flour over the beef, and stir to combine.
4. Gradually stir in beef broth, cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until slightly thickened, 3-5 minutes.
5. Next, reduce heat to low. Stir in provolone and cream cheese until melted and smooth. Finally, add cooked pasta, and toss to coat in the sauce.
6. Serve immediately, topped with extra provolone if desired. Enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Pasta creation!
