    • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
    • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella (divided)
    • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
    • 2 tbsp pasta water (as needed)
    • Butter or nonstick spray for baking dish

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a ceramic baking dish.
    2. Cook pasta in salted water until just under al dente. Drain.
    3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
    4. Stir in marinara sauce and tomato paste until smooth.
    5. Add heavy cream, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
    6. Mix in 3/4 cup Parmesan, 1 cup mozzarella, and basil until melted and creamy.
    7. Combine pasta with sauce in baking dish, coating evenly.
    8. Top with remaining cheeses.
    9. Bake for 18–22 minutes until bubbly and golden.
    10. Broil 1–2 minutes for extra golden top (optional).
    11. Rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil.
