A hearty and flavorful homemade meatloaf smothered in rich onion gravy perfect for a comforting family dinner!

    Ingredients:

    For the Meatloaf:

    750 g (1.5 lbs) ground beef

    1/2 cup breadcrumbs

    1/3 cup milk

    1 egg

    1 small onion, finely chopped

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

    1 teaspoon dried thyme

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    For the Onion Gravy:

    2 tablespoons butter

    2 large onions, thinly sliced

    1 clove garlic, minced

    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    2 cups beef stock

    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

    Salt and pepper to taste

    Fresh parsley for garnish

    Instructions:

    Prepare the Meatloaf:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and shape into a loaf. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

    Make the Onion Gravy:
While the meatloaf bakes, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until golden and caramelized (about 10-12 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.

Sprinkle flour over the onions, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes. Slowly pour in beef stock while stirring to prevent lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce and let the gravy thicken. Season with salt and pepper.

    Serve & Enjoy:
Slice the meatloaf and generously pour onion gravy over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm!
