Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers

If you’re looking for a healthy burger recipe without the bun, these oven-baked cabbage burgers are the perfect choice! Juicy ground beef patties are layered on roasted cabbage “steaks,” topped with cheese and tomato sauce, then baked to perfection. This low-carb cabbage burger recipe is ideal for keto, gluten-free, and family-friendly dinners.

Ingredients:

1 head green cabbage, cut into 1-inch slices (about 4 rounds)

1 lb lean ground beef

½ cup tomato sauce or ketchup

½ cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or Monterey Jack), divided

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp red chili flakes (optional, for heat)

1 tsp grated garlic

½ cup chopped green onion

½ cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing cabbage)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the cabbage base: Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Arrange cabbage slices on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Roast for 10 minutes.

2. Make the burger patties: In a large bowl, mix ground beef with garlic, green onion, parsley, red chili flakes, half the cheese, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 patties.

3. Assemble the cabbage burgers: Top each cabbage slice with 1 tbsp tomato sauce, a beef patty, and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

4. Bake & serve: Return to oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until patties are fully cooked and cheese is melted. Serve hot and enjoy your healthy cabbage burger alternative!
