Juicy oysters grilled to perfection are topped with a rich garlic butter sauce, melted Parmesan cheese, and a touch of fresh parsley. Ingredients:

1 stick (½ cup) butter, softened or melted

2 cloves garlic, grated or minced

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about ½ lemon)

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (or Pecorino Romano)

Salt, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne pepper (to taste)

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

12 fresh oysters on the half shell

½ cup additional grated Parmesan or Pecorino Romano cheese

2 tablespoons extra fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

 

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Garlic Butter Mixture
In a small bowl, mix together butter, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, ¼ cup Parmesan, salt, pepper, cayenne, and 1 tablespoon parsley until smooth. Set aside.

Step 2: Preheat the Grill
Heat your grill to medium (about 350°F / 180°C).

Step 3: Grill the Oysters
Place the oysters on the grill (shell side down). Cook until the oyster juices begin to bubble.

Step 4: Add Garlic Butter
Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the garlic butter mixture over each oyster.

Step 5: Top with Cheese & Grill
Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan over each oyster. Grill until the cheese melts and turns golden brown.

Step 6: Garnish & Serve
Remove from the grill and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges, hot sauce, crusty bread, or extra garlic butter for dipping.
