    Dolly Parton’s 5-Ingredient Casserole

     

    This easy casserole is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser simple, comforting, and full of flavor!

     

    Get ready to whip up a hearty and comforting classic with Dolly Parton’s 5-Ingredient Casserole a simple and flavorful dish packed with tender potatoes, savory ground beef, and sweet onions. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a cozy weekend meal!

    Ingredients:

    1 pound lean ground beef (85 or 90%)

    3 large russet potatoes, sliced 1/4-inch thick

    2 sweet onions, sliced 1/4-inch thick

    1 can diced tomatoes (preferably fire-roasted)

    2 medium green bell peppers, diced

    Salt and pepper, to taste

    Optional Additions:

    1 tablespoon diced butter

    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

    Pepperoncini

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat & Prep:
    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

    2. Cook the Beef:
    In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink (about 8 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper (if using).

    3. Layer the Casserole:

    Layer the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the dish. Season with salt, pepper, and butter (if using).

    Add the cooked ground beef on top of the potatoes.

    Layer the sliced onions over the beef, then add the diced tomatoes and bell peppers.

     

    4. Bake:
    Cover the dish with foil and bake for 2 hours until the potatoes are tender and the flavors are fully combined.

    5. Serve & Enjoy:
    For an extra kick, top with pepperoncini before serving!

    Tips & Variations:

    Swap ground beef with ground turkey or sausage for a twist.
    Add shredded cheese during the last 10 minutes for a gooey topping.
    Fire-roasted tomatoes give extra smoky depth to the flavor.
