    Easy Oven Baked Chicken and Rice (Saffron Basmati Recipe)

    This oven baked chicken and rice is a fragrant, comforting one-pan meal made with tender chicken, fluffy basmati rice, saffron, raisins, and toasted almonds.      Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven

    Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

    2. Season the chicken

    Season with salt, black pepper, and half the saffron, then let it marinate for 30 minutes.

    3. Prepare the flavored broth

    In a pot over medium heat, bring water to a boil. Add butter, salt, black pepper, turmeric, remaining saffron, and optional bay leaves and cardamom. Let it simmer briefly for a rich, aromatic broth.

    4. Assemble the casserole

    In a baking dish (Pyrex or clay):

    • Add soaked and drained basmati rice
    • Mix in raisins and toasted almonds
    • Pour the hot broth over the rice and stir gently

    Place the marinated chicken pieces evenly on top.

    5. Bake

    Cover with foil and bake for 60–75 minutes, until the rice is tender and the chicken is fully cooked and juicy.
