Delicious Nutella Filled Baked Donuts Recipe
Ingredients:
**Donut Batter:**
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– Dash of salt
– ¼ cup melted unsalted butter (½ Tbsp. to grease the pan and 3.5 Tbsp for the dough)
– 2 ½ tablespoons sugar
– ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
– 1 egg
– ¾ teaspoon vanilla
– 7 tablespoons milk
**Filling and Topping:**
– ¾ cup Nutella (8 oz. or 220 grams)
– 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
– ¼ cup sugar or light brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon (adjust to taste)
Instructions:
1. Line a donut pan with plastic wrap. Transfer Nutella to a piping bag (or zip-lock bag with the corner cut off). Pipe Nutella into the center of each cavity to form a ring, then freeze until firm. Once firm, remove the Nutella rings from the pan, place on a plate, and return to the freezer until ready to assemble the donuts.
2. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Brush the donut pan with melted butter and set aside.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
4. In another bowl, combine the remaining melted butter (3 ½ tbsp.) and 2 ½ tbsp. sugar. Add cinnamon, vanilla, egg, and milk, then whisk until just combined. Gradually whisk in the flour mixture.
5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag (or zip-lock bag with the corner cut off). Fill each donut cavity with half of the batter. Place the frozen Nutella rings on top, then cover with the remaining batter.
6. Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then invert them onto a rack.
8. In a bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Melt the 2 tbsp. of butter.
9. Brush each donut with melted butter, then dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
