Slow Cooker Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread

This easy slow cooker cinnamon pull-apart bread is a warm, gooey dessert made with frozen bread dough, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon. With only four ingredients and minimal prep, it is an ideal crockpot dessert recipe for busy weekdays, family gatherings, potlucks, or cozy weekends at home.

As the dough cooks slowly, it becomes soft and fluffy inside while the butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar create a sticky caramel-like sauce around every piece. Serve this slow cooker sweet bread warm for a simple homemade treat that tastes like cinnamon rolls without the extra mixing, kneading, or baking.

Why You’ll Love This Slow Cooker Dessert

    • Only 4 simple ingredients: A budget-friendly dessert using easy grocery-store staples.
    • No oven needed: Keep the kitchen cooler while your slow cooker does the work.
    • Easy for gatherings: The pull-apart style makes it perfect for sharing at parties and potlucks.
    • Warm and comforting: Cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter create a cozy bakery-style flavor.
    • Customizable: Add nuts, chocolate chips, glaze, or extra spices to make it your own.

    Servings: 8 to 10
    Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 2½ to 3½ hours

    Ingredients

    • 2 frozen raw bread dough loaves, about 1 pound each
    • 1 cup packed brown sugar
    • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

    Instructions

    1. Lightly grease the inside of a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
    2. Place the frozen bread dough loaves in the bottom of the slow cooker. The loaves may touch or overlap slightly, but keep them as flat as possible.
    3. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
    4. Pour the melted butter evenly over the frozen dough loaves. Allow some of the butter to run down the sides and collect in the bottom of the slow cooker.
    5. Sprinkle the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture over the buttered dough. Make sure the tops are well covered, as the sugar mixture will melt into a rich caramel sauce while cooking.
    6. Cover with the lid and cook on LOW for 2½ to 3½ hours. The bread is ready when it has risen, the center is fully cooked, and the edges are golden, sticky, and caramelized.
    7. Turn the slow cooker to WARM and let the cinnamon pull-apart bread rest for 10 minutes. This gives the buttery brown sugar sauce time to thicken.
    8. Serve warm by pulling apart pieces with tongs or scooping portions with a large spoon. Spoon the caramel sauce from the bottom of the slow cooker over each serving.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve this warm crockpot cinnamon bread on its own, or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an easy slow cooker dessert. Whipped cream, fresh berries, sliced bananas, coffee, hot cocoa, or a cold glass of milk also pair beautifully with the warm cinnamon flavor.

For parties, place the slow cooker in the center of the table and let guests pull apart their own pieces. It is an easy, interactive dessert that disappears quickly.

    Variations and Tips

For a crunchy topping, add ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts before cooking. Chocolate lovers can add ½ cup mini chocolate chips during the final 15 to 20 minutes of cooking. For a more seasonal flavor, replace part of the cinnamon with nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice.

To make the recipe less sweet, use ¾ cup brown sugar instead of 1 cup and add a small pinch of salt. You can also finish the warm bread with a quick glaze made from powdered sugar and milk for a cinnamon-roll-inspired dessert.
