    3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Mix gently until just combined without overworking the meat.
    4. Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 equal portions and shape into oval or round patties about ½-inch thick.
    5. Arrange the patties in a single layer over the mushroom soup mixture. Avoid stacking them.
    6. Cover and cook:
      • LOW: 5–6 hours
      • HIGH: 2½–3 hours
    7. Once fully cooked (internal temperature of 160°F/71°C), carefully remove the patties. Stir the gravy until smooth and creamy.
    8. Return the patties to the slow cooker or spoon the gravy generously over them when serving.
