    Ingredients

    • 12 oz wide egg noodles (dry)
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
    • 2 cups heavy cream
    • 3 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
    • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
    • 1½ cups hot water, plus extra if needed

    Instructions

    1. Lightly grease a 4 to 6-quart slow cooker with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
    2. Add the heavy cream, yellow mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
    3. Stir in 1 cup of the hot water to thin the sauce slightly.
    4. Add the dry egg noodles and gently toss until coated. Add the remaining hot water if needed to mostly cover the noodles.
    5. Scatter the butter evenly over the noodles.
    6. Cover and cook on LOW for 1½ to 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes for even cooking.
    7. If the noodles absorb too much liquid before becoming tender, stir in a few tablespoons of hot water as needed.
    8. Once the noodles are tender and coated in a thick, glossy sauce, taste and adjust the seasoning. Add a little extra mustard if you prefer a stronger tang.
    9. Let the noodles rest on the WARM setting for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
