Slow Cooker Amish Style Spinach Chicken Noodles

Why You’ll Love This Recipe (Benefits)

This slow cooker spinach chicken noodles recipe is the perfect solution for busy weeknights when you need a comforting, no-fuss family dinner.

    Benefits:

    • Easy 5-ingredient slow cooker recipe
    • Minimal prep – just dump and cook
    • Family-friendly comfort food
    • High-protein chicken dinner
    • Hidden vegetables (baby spinach) for extra nutrition
    • Budget-friendly Amish-style meal
    • Perfect for meal prep and leftovers

    Servings: 6

    Ingredients:

    • 1 1/2 pounds chicken tenderloins (raw)
    • 5 ounces fresh baby spinach (about 5 packed cups)
    • 3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
    • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
    • 8 ounces wide egg noodles (dry)

    Instructions:

    1. Place the raw chicken tenderloins in an even layer at the bottom of a 5–7 quart slow cooker.
    2. Add the fresh baby spinach on top of the chicken. It will look like a lot, but it will shrink as it cooks.
    3. In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth + cream of chicken soup until smooth. Pour over chicken and spinach.
    4. Cover and cook:
      • LOW: 4–5 hours
      • HIGH: 2 1/2–3 hours
until chicken is tender and fully cooked.
    5. Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks and mix everything together.
    6. Add the dry egg noodles, pressing them into the liquid. Add a little extra broth if needed.
    7. Cover and cook on HIGH for 20–30 minutes, stirring halfway, until noodles are tender.
    8. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve hot.

    Serving Suggestions:

Serve your creamy chicken noodles with:

    • Fresh green salad with vinaigrette
    • Buttered bread or dinner rolls
    • Steamed carrots or green beans
    • Pickles or pickled beets (classic Amish-style touch)

    Recipe Variations & Tips:

    • Swap egg noodles with kluski noodles for a more traditional Amish flavor
    • Use chicken thighs for richer taste
    • Add carrots or celery for extra vegetables
    • Stir in Parmesan cheese for extra creaminess
    • Replace part of the soup with Greek yogurt (add after cooking chicken)
