This creamy chicken tortellini soup is a cozy, family-friendly meal that’s loaded with tender chicken, cheesy tortellini, fresh vegetables, and a rich Parmesan cream broth. Perfect for weeknight dinners, meal prep, or when you need a hearty comfort food recipe to warm you up!

Ingredients:

1 ¼ lb bone-in chicken breast (or 3 cups shredded cooked chicken)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium yellow onion, diced
¾ cup carrots, diced
2 celery ribs, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
6 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
10 oz refrigerated three-cheese tortellini (about 2 cups)
1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups spinach or kale, chopped
Fresh parsley, for garnish

Directions:

Season chicken with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil and butter in a large soup pot, then sear chicken until golden brown (5–7 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.

Sauté onion, carrots, and celery in the same pot until softened. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.

Pour in chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (optional). Return chicken to the pot and simmer 20–25 minutes, until fully cooked.

Remove and shred chicken. Add cheese tortellini to the pot and cook for 3–5 minutes, until tender.

Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Return shredded chicken and add spinach or kale. Cook until greens are wilted.

Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy this creamy chicken tortellini soup with crusty bread or a salad.
