    Shrimp and Sausage Cabbage Bowl with Rice

    Looking for a flavor-packed shrimp and sausage recipe that’s quick, hearty, and healthy? This Shrimp and Sausage Cabbage Bowl with Rice is the ultimate one-pan dinner idea. With juicy shrimp, smoky sausage, tender cabbage, and colorful veggies, this dish is both comforting and nutritious. Perfect for easy weeknight dinners, meal prep bowls, or when you crave a Southern-style cabbage stir fry.

     

    Ingredients:

    1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

    12 oz smoked sausage (sliced)

    ½ head green cabbage (chopped)

    1 small onion (sliced)

    1 red bell pepper (chopped)

    1 carrot (sliced)

    3 cloves garlic (minced)

    2 tbsp olive oil or butter

    1 tsp paprika

    ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

    Salt and black pepper to taste

    ½ cup chicken broth or water

    Cooked white rice (for serving)

     

    Directions:

    Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add smoked sausage slices and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

    In the same pan, add olive oil or butter. Sauté onion, bell pepper, cabbage, and carrots until softened (about 10 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

    Season with paprika, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Add chicken broth or water, then let simmer for 5–7 minutes until the cabbage is tender and flavorful.

    Return the sausage to the skillet and add shrimp. Cook for 3–5 minutes until shrimp turn pink and are fully cooked.

     

    Serving Suggestion:

    Serve the shrimp and sausage cabbage mixture over warm white rice for a complete and filling dinner bowl. This dish is also great with brown rice, quinoa, or even cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
