    Sweet and Sour Chicken Stir Fry Recipe

    Looking for an easy weeknight dinner? This Sweet and Sour Chicken Stir Fry is bursting with bold flavors and vibrant veggies. Juicy chicken, crisp bell peppers, and a tangy homemade sauce come together in under 30 minutes. Perfect served over steamed rice or noodles for a satisfying Asian-inspired meal!

    Ingredients:

    1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized chunks

    1 red bell pepper, chopped

    1 green bell pepper, chopped

    1 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil for more flavor)

    1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

    1/4 cup rice vinegar

    1/4 cup ketchup

    2 tbsp soy sauce

    2 tbsp brown sugar

    1 tbsp cornstarch

    1/2 cup water

    Directions:

    1. Whisk the Sweet and Sour Sauce:
      In a small bowl, combine rice vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water. Whisk until smooth and set aside. This tangy-sweet sauce gives the stir fry its signature flavor!
    2. Sauté the Chicken:
      Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
    3. Add Bell Peppers:
      Toss in the chopped red and green peppers. Stir-fry for another 3–4 minutes until they’re slightly tender but still vibrant.
    4. Pour in the Sauce:
      Give the sauce another stir, then pour it over the chicken and peppers. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and beautifully coats the stir fry.
    5. Garnish & Serve:
      Sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional) and serve immediately over white rice, brown rice, or your favorite noodles.
