    Chicken Gravy with French Fries

     

     

    Savor the ultimate comfort food with this Chicken Gravy with French Fries. This delectable dish combines rich, savory chicken gravy with perfectly crispy French fries, making it an ideal meal for any time of the day.

    Ingredients:

    For the Chicken Gravy:

    – 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    – 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    – 1 cup chicken broth
    – 1/2 cup milk
    – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    – 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    – Salt and pepper to taste

    For the French Fries:

    – 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
    – 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    – Salt to taste

    Directions:

    Step 1: Prepare the French Fries
    1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the cut potatoes with vegetable oil and salt until evenly coated.
    2. Arrange the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
    3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.

    Step 2: Make the Chicken Gravy
    1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir constantly for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
    2. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and milk, making sure the mixture is smooth and free of lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
    3. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

    Step 3: Serve
    1. Arrange the crispy French fries on a serving plate or platter.
    2. Generously ladle the chicken gravy over the fries.
    3. Serve immediately and enjoy this comforting meal.
