Ingredients:

1 lb lean ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can kidney beans (drained and rinsed)

1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)

1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)

Salt and black pepper to taste

 

Instructions:

1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed.

2. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, mixing well to coat the meat in spices.

3. Add the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Stir to combine.

4. Simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chili thickens and flavors meld together.

5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or green onions!
