    Vintage Oven-Baked Peach Cobbler

Indulge in the rich, buttery goodness of this homemade peach cobbler! This easy Southern dessert is bursting with juicy peaches and a golden, crispy crust. Perfect for family gatherings, summer barbecues, or holiday feasts!

    Ingredients:

    For the Peach Filling:

    • 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned, drained)
    • (For fresh peaches, add) ½ cup water + 1 cup granulated sugar

    For the Batter:

    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 tbsp baking powder
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • 1 cup milk
    • ½ cup (1 stick) melted unsalted butter
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
    • Ground cinnamon (optional, for topping)

    Instructions:

    Preheat the Oven:

Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Prepare the Peach Filling:

In a saucepan, combine sliced peaches, water (if using fresh peaches), and sugar.

    • Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.

    Make the Batter:

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
    • Gradually stir in milk, followed by melted butter and vanilla extract. Mix well to remove lumps.

    Assemble the Cobbler:

    • Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish (do not stir).
    • Spoon the hot peach mixture over the batter evenly (do not stir).
    • Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top for extra flavor.

    Bake to Perfection:

    • Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

    Serve & Enjoy!

    • Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.
    • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the ultimate indulgence!

    Pro Tips:

Add 1 tsp lemon juice and a pinch of nutmeg to the peach mixture for a deeper flavor.
Adjust sugar levels based on the sweetness of your peaches.
Great make-ahead dessert tastes amazing warm or at room temperature!
