This easy smash burger recipe brings restaurant-quality flavor straight to your kitchen!

    Ingredients:

    1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for extra juicy burgers)

    4 slices classic American cheese

    4 soft potato buns

    1 tbsp vegetable oil

    1 tsp kosher salt

    1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

    1/2 tsp garlic powder

    1/2 tsp onion powder

    Optional burger toppings: crisp lettuce, ripe tomato slices, crunchy pickles, ketchup, mustard, creamy mayo

    Directions:

    1. Prepare the beef: Divide the ground beef into 4 even portions. Lightly season each ball with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder for maximum flavor.

    2. Heat the skillet: Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over high heat. Add vegetable oil to create that perfect crispy sear.

    3. Smash the patties: Place beef balls onto the hot skillet. Using a sturdy spatula or burger press, smash each ball flat to create thin patties with crispy edges.
