Looking for the perfect comfort food recipe to warm your soul? This Creamy Cheeseburger Potato Soup blends hearty ground beef, fluffy potatoes, melted cheddar, and savory seasonings into one irresistible bowl! Ideal for cozy nights, game-day gatherings, or family dinners.
Ingredients for Cheeseburger Potato Soup:
1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and diced
4 cups chicken broth (low-sodium preferred)
1 cup whole milk (or half-and-half for extra creaminess)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Chopped green onions for garnish
Directions:
1. In a large soup pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
2. Add diced onions and minced garlic. Sauté until translucent and fragrant.
3. Stir in the diced potatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
4. Lightly mash some of the potatoes in the pot with a masher, creating a thick and creamy texture while keeping a few hearty chunks.
5. Add milk, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese melts and soup becomes smooth and velvety.
6. Simmer for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
7. Serve hot, topped with chopped green onions or extra shredded cheese.
Recipe Notes:
Add crisp jalapeños for extra flavor.
Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or sausage for a twist.
