Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, and beat on medium speed until smooth.
Slowly pour in the boiling water and stir until the batter is well-combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Insert a toothpick to check for doneness it should come out clean.
Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
2. Whip Up the Chocolate Frosting:
In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat until the frosting is fluffy and smooth.
3. Make the Chocolate Ganache:
Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it simmers. Pour it over the chopped semi-sweet chocolate and let it sit for 2 minutes.
Stir the mixture until the chocolate is melted and glossy. Add the butter and mix until the ganache reaches a smooth consistency. Allow it to cool until it’s thick enough to pour over the cake.
