Ingredients:

For the Cake Layer:

1 box yellow cake mix (use half of the prepared batter as directed)

For the Cheesecake Layer:

4 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

1 cup sugar

½ cup cornstarch

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1 cup heavy whipping cream

For the Pastry Cream:

1 (3.4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 pint heavy cream

½ cup milk

For the Chocolate Ganache Drip:

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 ounces dark chocolate, chopped

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoons corn syrup

1 cup confectioners’ sugar, sifted

Optional Garnishes:

Mini chocolate chips

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Cake Layer

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Pour half of the prepared yellow cake batter into a greased 9-inch springform pan.

3. Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until set. Cool on a wire rack.

Step 2: Make the Cheesecake Batter

1. Beat one package of cream cheese, ½ cup sugar, and cornstarch on low speed until creamy (about 3 minutes).

2. Gradually add the rest of the cream cheese and sugar. Mix in vanilla extract.

3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.

4. Blend in heavy whipping cream until smooth.

Step 3: Assemble the Cheesecake

1. Pour the cheesecake batter over the cooled cake layer.

2. Wrap the pan in foil and place in a larger baking dish filled with hot water (1 inch up the sides).

3. Bake for 60 minutes, or until the center jiggles slightly.

2. Reduce to low and whisk in chopped chocolate until melted.

3. Remove from heat and mix in confectioners’ sugar until smooth.

Step 8: Drizzle the Chocolate

1. Drizzle the warm ganache over the cheesecake, allowing it to drip down the sides.

2. Chill until set.

Step 9: Garnish
