    Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak Recipe

     

    Discover the secret to a quick and delicious weeknight meal with this Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak! Packed with tender steak, crisp bell peppers, and a savory sauce, this dish comes together in under 35 minutes perfect for busy nights!

    Ingredients:

    1 lb flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    1 tablespoon cornstarch

    1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for marinade)

    2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for stir fry)

    1 large onion (thinly sliced)

    1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)

    1 green bell pepper (thinly sliced)

    3 cloves garlic (minced)

    1 tablespoon ginger (minced)

    1/2 cup beef broth

    2 tablespoons soy sauce (for stir fry sauce)

    1 tablespoon oyster sauce

    1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

    1 tablespoon rice vinegar

    1 teaspoon sugar

    1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water for slurry)

    1/4 teaspoon black pepper

    1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

    Cooked white rice or steamed rice (for serving)

    Instructions:

    Marinate the Steak:

    In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil.

    Toss the thinly sliced flank steak in the mixture and let it marinate for 15–30 minutes to lock in flavor.

    Prepare the Sauce:

    In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and pepper. Set aside.

    Sear the Steak:

    Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

    Add the marinated steak in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned and cooked through.

    Remove from the skillet and set aside.

    Sauté the Veggies:

    In the same skillet, add more oil if needed.

    Stir-fry the sliced onions and bell peppers for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.

    Add Garlic and Ginger:

    Add the minced garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

    Combine Everything:

    Return the cooked steak to the skillet.

    Pour in the stir-fry sauce and stir well.

    Bring to a simmer and cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens.

    Finish and Serve:

    Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce coats the steak and vegetables.

    Serve hot over steamed rice or white rice for the ultimate flavor-packed meal!
