    Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Muffins

     

    These Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Muffins are a savory delight, perfect for busy mornings or meal prep. Packed with flavorful ground sausage, cheddar, and mozzarella cheese, they’re both protein-rich and satisfying. The fluffy texture is enhanced by a blend of spices like garlic and onion powder, making every bite irresistible. Easy to make in just 35 minutes, they’re ideal for breakfast, brunch, or even as a quick snack. Enjoy them fresh out of the oven or store for later to save time during the week!

    Ingredients:

    1 pound ground sausage

    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

    1 tablespoon baking powder

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    1/2 teaspoon onion powder

    1/4 teaspoon black pepper

    2 large eggs

    1/2 cup milk

    1/4 cup melted butter

    1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

    Instructions:

    Preheat Your Oven
    Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it thoroughly.

    Cook the Sausage
    In a skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Crumble the sausage as it cooks, drain the excess fat, and let it cool slightly.

    Mix the Dry Ingredients
    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.

    Prepare the Wet Ingredients
    In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and sour cream (or Greek yogurt) until smooth and creamy.

    Combine the Ingredients
    Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese.

    Fill the Muffin Tin
    Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.

    Bake to Perfection
    Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    Cool and Serve
    Let the muffins cool slightly in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack. Serve warm, or store in an airtight container for a quick breakfast or snack.
