Ingredients:
– 1 sheet of puff pastry
– 1 family milk chocolate tablet
– 20g of chopped almonds (or your preferred dried fruit, hazelnuts work beautifully too)
– 1 egg
Preparation:
1. Begin by preheating your oven to 200ºC (392ºF) to ensure it’s ready when you’re done preparing the braid.
2. Roll out the puff pastry and place the family milk chocolate tablet in the center.
3. Make horizontal cuts on the sides of the puff pastry sheet, approximately 2 centimeters apart.
4. Now, let the crafting begin! Close each strip of pastry as if you were braiding hair, alternating from one side to the other until the entire sheet is beautifully braided.
5. Beat the egg well and use it to brush the entire surface of the pastry braid.
6. Sprinkle the chopped almonds (or nuts of your choice) on top of the braid. For extra sweetness, you can add a sprinkle of sugar or a touch of cinnamon.
7. Carefully transfer the puff pastry braid onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
