    Hearty Beef, Tomato & Bow-Tie Macaroni Soup

     

    This comforting homemade Beef, Tomato & Bow-Tie Macaroni Soup is packed with rich flavors of seasoned beef, tangy tomatoes, and tender pasta. Perfect for cozy dinners or meal prep a family favorite that warms the soul!

    Ingredients:

    (No strict measurements this is a cozy, “cook-from-the-heart” kind of soup!)
    1–2 boxes of beef broth or beef stock (depending on pot size)
    1 large can of petite diced tomatoes
    1 large onion, finely diced
    2–3 garlic cloves, fresh pressed
    2½ lbs lean ground beef
    1 small can of tomato sauce
    Brown sugar, to taste (about 1 tablespoon to balance acidity)
    Italian herbs: oregano, basil, and a few bay leaves
    Seasonings: garlic salt, garlic powder, black pepper
    2 cups bow-tie pasta (farfalle)

    Instructions:

    Prepare the Broth Base:
    In a large Dutch oven or soup pot, pour in the beef broth. Add diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, and seasonings pepper, garlic salt, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and bay leaves.

    Simmer the Flavors:
    Bring everything to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Let it cook until onions are tender and the flavors are well blended. Adjust seasonings to taste.

    Cook the Beef:
    In a skillet, brown the lean ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat if needed. Add the beef to the soup along with the tomato sauce for a richer, thicker flavor.

    Balance the Acidity:
    Stir in a touch of brown sugar (start with 1 teaspoon and add more if needed) to mellow out the tomato acidity. Simmer the soup for about 40 minutes to deepen the flavor.

    Add the Pasta:
    Finally, stir in the bow-tie pasta. Cook until the pasta is tender but not overdone.

    Serve & Enjoy:
    Ladle into bowls and serve piping hot! Garnish with fresh basil, grated Parmesan, or a drizzle of olive oil for extra flavor.

    Add chopped carrots, celery, or green beans for a veggie-packed version.
