Ingredients:

1 pound (450g) flank steak or sirloin, sliced thin

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 large green bell pepper, sliced

1 large red bell pepper (optional for color), sliced

1 medium onion, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)

1/4 cup beef broth or water

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional for richer flavor)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Optional: Sliced green onions or sesame seeds for garnish

Directions:

Marinate the steak: Combine sliced steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch in a bowl. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes to enhance tenderness.

Prepare the skillet: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Cook the beef: Add the marinated steak and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked. Remove and set aside.

Sauté vegetables: In the same skillet, stir-fry green and red bell peppers (if using) with the onion for 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 additional minute.

Combine flavors: Return steak to the skillet. Stir in beef broth, oyster sauce (if using), and black pepper. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and the beef to cook through.

Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete, hearty dish.
