    Easy & Authentic Thai Grilled Beef Salad Recipe

     

    Craving a healthy, spicy, and refreshing Thai beef salad? This easy Thai Grilled Beef Salad (Nam Tok Neua) combines tender grilled steak, crunchy veggies, fresh herbs, and a zesty lime dressing for a light yet flavorful dish! Perfect as an appetizer or main course, it’s one of the best Thai salad recipes for summer or any time you’re craving bold flavors!

    Ingredients (Serves 4)

    For the Grilled Beef:

    500g (1 lb) flank steak or sirloin

    2 tbsp soy sauce

    1 tbsp fish sauce (or soy sauce for vegetarian option)

    1 tbsp fresh lime juice

    1 tbsp brown sugar

    2 garlic cloves, minced

    1 tsp ground black pepper

    1 tbsp vegetable oil

    For the Fresh Thai Salad:

    1 cucumber, thinly sliced

    1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

    1 small red onion, thinly sliced

    1 cup fresh cilantro leaves

    1/2 cup fresh mint leaves

    1/2 cup Thai basil leaves (or regular basil)

    1–2 red chilies, thinly sliced (adjust to taste)

    For the Spicy Thai Dressing:

    3 tbsp lime juice

    2 tbsp fish sauce (or soy sauce)

    1 tbsp palm sugar or brown sugar

    1 garlic clove, minced

    1 small red chili, finely chopped (optional for heat)

     

    Instructions:

    Marinate the Beef:

    In a bowl, mix soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic, black pepper, and oil.
    Add the beef, coat well, and marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours in the fridge).

    Grill the Steak:

    Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
    Grill the steak for 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare or until your preferred doneness.
    Let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain for tenderness.

    Prepare the Zesty Dressing:

    Whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, garlic, and chili until the sugar dissolves.

    Assemble the Thai Salad:

    In a large bowl, combine cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, herbs, and sliced chilies.
    Add the sliced grilled beef, drizzle with the spicy dressing, and toss gently to combine.

    Serve & Enjoy:

    Serve immediately as a light main dish or an appetizer. Garnish with extra herbs or chili for added flair.
