Total Time: 25–30 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
For the Salmon:
4 salmon fillets (skinless or skin-on, as preferred)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Creamy Piccata Sauce:
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup chicken broth
Juice of 1 lemon
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons capers, drained
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Season the Salmon: Pat salmon fillets dry. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
2. Sear the Salmon: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add salmon fillets and cook for about 4 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Make the Sauce: In the same pan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
4. Deglaze: Add chicken broth and lemon juice. Let simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
5. Add Cream and Capers: Stir in heavy cream and capers. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
6. Finish: Return salmon to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Let it simmer gently for 2 minutes.
7. Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve with pasta, mashed potatoes, or sautéed greens.
Tip:
This dish pairs beautifully with angel hair pasta, garlic mashed potatoes, or roasted asparagus for a full gourmet meal.
