    Creamy Parmesan Orzo with Chicken and Asparagus

     

    This Chicken and Asparagus in Creamy Parmesan Orzo is a rich and satisfying one-pan meal perfect for any occasion. Tender chicken, fresh asparagus, and toasted orzo are simmered in a creamy Parmesan sauce for a flavorful, comforting dish. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s an excellent choice for busy weeknights or casual family dinners. Packed with protein and fresh veggies, it’s both hearty and wholesome. Serve this creamy orzo dish as a complete meal or pair it with a fresh side salad for a delightful experience.

    Ingredients:

    2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    2 cups chicken broth

    1 cup orzo pasta

    1 cup heavy cream

    ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

    1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

    3 cloves garlic, minced

    1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

    Salt and pepper, to taste

    Fresh parsley for garnish

    Instructions:

    1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the diced chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 5–6 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken and set aside.

    2. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

    3. Add the orzo pasta and toast for 1 minute. Pour in the chicken broth, bringing it to a simmer. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.

    4. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese, creating a creamy sauce.

    5. Add the asparagus and cooked chicken back to the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes, allowing the asparagus to become tender and bright green.

    6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
