    Classic Southern Peach Cobbler Recipe

This Classic Southern Peach Cobbler is a simple yet indulgent dessert, perfect for any occasion. With its juicy peaches nestled under a golden, buttery crust, it delivers a warm and comforting treat in every bite. The recipe is easy to follow, making it a go-to for both beginner and seasoned bakers. Serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an irresistible combination. Whether made with fresh, canned, or frozen peaches, this cobbler is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

    Ingredients:

    – 1 cup all-purpose flour
    – 1 cup sugar
    – 1 tablespoon baking powder
    – 1/4 teaspoon salt
    – 1 cup milk
    – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    – 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or canned/frozen peaches)
    – 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    – 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
    – 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat the Oven:
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, allowing it to coat the bottom for a rich, buttery base.

    2. Make the Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir in the milk until just combined, ensuring a smooth batter. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish, but don’t stir. The batter will naturally rise and form a delicious crust during baking.

    3. Prepare the Peaches:
In a separate bowl, toss the sliced peaches with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a hint of spice and freshness. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter in the baking dish without stirring, allowing the flavors to blend perfectly as it bakes.

    4. Bake the Cobbler:
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown on top, with the batter having risen around the peaches to create a tender, juicy filling.

    5. Serve:
Let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm, topped with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream or a generous dollop of whipped cream for the ultimate comfort dessert.
