Ingredients:
1 cup warm water
1 packet active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons softened butter (or non-dairy substitute)
1 egg, beaten
3 1/2 – 4 cups flour
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for a few minutes until foamy.
Add sugar, salt, softened butter, and beaten egg. Mix well.
Gradually add flour using a dough hook or by hand until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
Turn dough onto a floured surface, knead briefly until smooth, and place in a greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm spot for about 45 minutes.
Punch down the dough and shape into 12 rolls. Arrange in a greased 13×9-inch baking pan.
Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
