    Easy Amish Biscuit Beef Casserole

This easy Amish biscuit beef casserole is a hearty, family-friendly dinner made with seasoned ground beef, creamy mushroom gravy, milk, and fluffy refrigerated biscuits. It is the perfect comfort food casserole for busy weeknights, cool evenings, or anytime you need a simple homemade meal that satisfies everyone at the table.

With tender beef patties baked in a rich, savory sauce and topped with golden biscuit pieces, this ground beef casserole recipe delivers classic farmhouse flavor with very little prep. It is filling, budget-friendly, and made with everyday ingredients you may already have in your kitchen.

Why You’ll Love This Biscuit Beef Casserole

    • Easy weeknight dinner: Simple preparation and minimal cleanup make this an ideal meal for busy families.
    • Budget-friendly comfort food: Ground beef, canned soup, milk, and biscuit dough create a satisfying meal without expensive ingredients.
    • Family-friendly recipe: Creamy gravy, tender beef, and soft biscuits make it appealing to both kids and adults.
    • High-protein meal: Ground beef adds protein to help make this casserole filling and satisfying.
    • Perfect for leftovers: Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat for an easy lunch or dinner the next day.

    Ingredients

    • 2 pounds ground beef, 80–85% lean
    • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
    • 1 cup whole milk
    • 1 can (16 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough, 8 large biscuits

    Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
    2. Place the ground beef in a large bowl. Add the salt and black pepper, then gently mix until the seasoning is evenly distributed. Avoid overmixing the beef so the patties stay tender.
    3. Divide the seasoned ground beef into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a flat square or round patty, about 1/2 inch thick.
    4. Arrange the raw beef patties in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Leave a little space between each patty so the gravy can cook evenly around them.
    5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and whole milk until smooth. Pour the creamy mushroom gravy evenly over the beef patties.
    6. Separate the refrigerated biscuits and tear each one into 3 or 4 rustic pieces. Arrange the biscuit dough pieces over the beef and gravy mixture, covering most of the casserole.
    7. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Check the biscuits; if they are browning too quickly, loosely cover the dish with foil.
    8. Continue baking for 10 to 15 more minutes, until the biscuits are golden brown and the ground beef reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
    9. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. This allows the creamy gravy to thicken slightly.
    10. Serve warm with green beans, peas, coleslaw, applesauce, or a fresh garden salad.

    Recipe Variations

For a different flavor, replace the cream of mushroom soup with cream of chicken or cream of celery soup. You can also add 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese to the gravy mixture for a cheesy beef biscuit casserole.

For extra flavor, add finely chopped onion to the ground beef or stir dried parsley, thyme, garlic powder, or onion powder into the creamy sauce. If you prefer a smaller portion, halve the ingredients and bake the casserole in an 8×8-inch dish.

    Storage and Reheating

Allow leftovers to cool, then store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave or warm the casserole in the oven until heated through.

This easy ground beef and biscuit casserole is a cozy, affordable, and delicious meal that brings classic Amish-style comfort food straight to your dinner table.
