    Air Fryer Whole Chicken (Crispy, Juicy & Healthy)
    This Air Fryer Whole Chicken delivers ultra-crispy skin and tender, juicy meat using less oil than traditional roasting. It’s an easy, healthy dinner recipe that’s perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep, or a cozy family meal. Cooking a whole chicken in the air fryer locks in moisture, cuts down cook time, and gives you restaurant-quality results at home.

    1 whole chicken (3–4 lb), patted dry

    2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil

    1 tsp salt (or to taste)

    1 tsp black pepper

    1 tsp paprika (or smoked paprika)

    1 tsp garlic powder

    1 tsp onion powder

    ½ tsp dried thyme or rosemary

    Instructions
    1. Prep the Chicken
    Remove giblets and pat the chicken completely dry (this helps the skin get crispy). Rub all over with olive oil.

    2. Season
    Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and herbs. Season the chicken generously on all sides.

    3. Air Fry
    Preheat air fryer to 360°F (180°C).
    Place chicken breast-side down in the basket and cook for 30 minutes.
    Flip breast-side up and cook an additional 20–25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) at the thickest part.

    4. Rest & Serve
    Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving. Serve with roasted vegetables, green beans, or a fresh salad.

    Pro Tips
    For extra-crispy skin, lightly spray the chicken with oil halfway through cooking.

    If your air fryer is smaller, choose a 3–3.5 lb chicken for best airflow.

    Save the bones for homemade chicken broth.
