Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry
This classic Beef and Broccoli stir-fry is a quick, flavorful, and healthier alternative to takeout. Tender strips of beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory soy-ginger sauce come together in one pan for a protein-packed, family-friendly meal that’s ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons cornstarch, divided
½ cup water + 2 tablespoons water, divided
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 lb boneless round steak or chuck steak, thinly sliced into 3-inch strips
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
4 cups fresh broccoli florets
1 small onion, cut into wedges
⅓ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
Hot cooked rice, for serving
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water, and garlic powder until smooth.
Add the sliced beef and toss to coat evenly.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Stir-fry beef until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove and keep warm.
Add the remaining oil to the pan and stir-fry broccoli and onion for 4–5 minutes until crisp-tender.
Return beef to the skillet.
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, remaining cornstarch, and water until smooth. Pour over beef and vegetables.
Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats everything beautifully.
Serve hot over steamed rice and enjoy!
