2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
½ cup heavy whipping cream
Black pepper, to taste
Toasted bread slices, for serving

Add the Dairy Slowly whisk in milk and heavy cream, stirring constantly until smooth. Let simmer 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Season & Add Beef Stir in black pepper, then fold in the chopped beef. Simmer another 2–3 minutes until heated through.
Toast the Bread While the sauce cooks, toast bread slices until golden and crisp.
Serve & Enjoy Spoon the creamy chipped beef mixture generously over toast. Add an extra sprinkle of black pepper for a classic finish.
Recipe Tips & Variations:
Add spice: A pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes gives the creamy sauce a little kick.
Make it lighter: Substitute half-and-half or all milk for the cream.
Serving idea: Try it over biscuits, English muffins, or mashed potatoes instead of toast.
Storage & Reheating:
Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Reheat: Warm gently on the stovetop with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
