Looking for the perfect dessert to please a crowd? These Cherry Pie Bars are soft, sweet, and bursting with cherry flavor ideal for potlucks, family gatherings, or holiday parties. This simple and delicious dessert bar recipe is easy to make and guaranteed to impress!

    Ingredients:

    For the Cherry Bars:

1 ½ cups unsalted butter, softened

    3 cups granulated sugar

    1 ½ teaspoons salt

    5 large eggs

    1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

    1 ½ teaspoons almond extract

    5 ½ cups all-purpose flour

    1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

2 cans (21 oz each) cherry pie filling

    For the Sweet Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar (confectioners’ sugar)

    3 tablespoons milk

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12×17-inch jelly roll pan with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick baking spray.
    2. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together for 1–2 minutes until light and fluffy.
    3. Add the salt, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract, mixing until smooth.
    4. Stir in the flour and baking powder until just combined.
    5. Reserve 1 ¾ cups of the dough and press the remaining dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
    6. Spread the cherry pie filling over the dough layer. Drop small spoonfuls of the reserved dough over the cherry layer.
    7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
    8. Cool completely on a wire rack.
    9. Mix together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled bars.
    10. Cut into 35 squares.

These homemade cherry dessert bars are a crowd-pleaser perfect for birthdays, church events, or just when you want a sweet cherry fix. Soft, buttery crust, sweet cherries, and a vanilla-almond glaze make every bite irresistible!
