Ingredients
For the Apple Fritters:
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 large eggs
½ cup (120ml) buttermilk
¼ cup (60ml) unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups (about 2 medium) apples, peeled, cored, and diced
For the Sweet Glaze:
1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk (adjust as needed)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together:
Flour
Sugar
Baking powder & baking soda
Salt
Cinnamon & nutmeg for that warm, spiced flavor!
Prepare the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together:
Eggs
Buttermilk
Melted butter
Vanilla extract
Combine & Fold in Apples
Slowly add the wet ingredients into the dry mix. Stir until just combined (don’t overmix!). Gently fold in the chopped apples for that fresh apple goodness.
Shape the Fritters
Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them. Lightly flatten each fritter with the back of a spoon.
Bake to Perfection
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let them cool slightly.
Prepare the Sweet Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together:
Powdered sugar
Milk (adjust for desired consistency)
Vanilla extract
Drizzle & Serve
Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters and let it set for a few minutes.
