Salisbury Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Mushroom Gravy

Ingredients:
For the steaks:
1 lb Ground beef
¼ cup Breadcrumbs
1 Large egg
½ Onion, finely chopped
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp Olive oil
1 package Refrigerated mashed potatoes, cooked according to package instructions
For the gravy:
2 tbsp Butter
8 oz Sliced mushrooms
2 cups Beef broth
2 tbsp Flour
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
2. Form the mixture into four even patties.
3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for a few minutes on each side until seared and browned. Once done, remove from the skillet and set aside.
4. Remove any excess fat from the skillet, then add butter and sliced mushrooms. Saute over medium heat until the mushrooms soften.
5. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well to combine.
6. Gradually whisk in beef broth, adjusting salt and pepper to taste. Stir until the gravy begins to thicken.
7. Return the steak patties to the skillet and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer until the meat is fully cooked and the gravy reaches your desired thickness.
8. Serve the Salisbury steak and mushroom gravy over the prepared mashed potatoes.
